Professional Education
9 AM – 3 PM | $79 Admission
Birthing people across the country are facing serious and avoidable risks. More than 80% of pregnancy-related deaths are preventable, with mental health conditions as the leading underlying cause. Those who identify as Black, American Indian, or Alaska Native are two to three times more likely to die from pregnancy-related causes than their White counterparts. And in rural communities, access to care remains a critical barrier.
The team at Color & Culture created this summit in direct response to these urgent issues — to raise awareness and work together to support healthier outcomes for all moms, birthing people, and families. Connect with healthcare professionals, community leaders, and advocates for a day of learning, sharing, and action.
Topics Covered
The Maternal Health Summit will explore the full spectrum of care before, during, and after pregnancy. Topics include prenatal and postpartum care, OB/GYN access, doula support, delivery planning, and infant health. We’ll also address maternal mental health, substance use, high-risk pregnancies, and disparities in care. Sessions will highlight both clinical practices and lived experiences, with a focus on improving outcomes for mothers, birthing people, and families.
Community Baby Shower
5 PM – 8 PM | Free Admission
Following the professional sessions at the Maternal Health Summit, we invite the public to join us for a free Community Baby Shower. Families and parents-to-be are welcome to enjoy fun activities, connect with local resources, and receive helpful information on pregnancy, parenting, and early childhood care. There will be giveaways for expecting parents and families, plus the chance to meet organizations that support maternal and family health. All are welcome to attend!
